I have reorganized heavy mortar co., 224th reg, 40th div and we
now meet yearly in las vegas. My roster includes about 90 names
of mortarmen. I know another former member of the 40th div.
who has accumulated over 900 names of men from the 224th
and organized its first reunin last year in Ontario, CA.
I'm still looking for other former comrades from mortar company.
Heavy Mortar Company will have its ninth reunion at the Gold Coast
Casino, Las Vegas, always in the first week in October and always
in Vegas. It will be a three day affair this year.

Have to say this. I began this search looking for info on my uncle.
Learned that my friend (married Apr 1951) lost her husband on porkchop
hill in Sep 1951. The letters from other veterans & their families,
the searches for MIAs & POWs that go on & on--the effort, organization
& attention that all contribute to this resource--remind me that each of
the veterans have given something back to life. I pray that answers are
found and that healing begins.
