Jodi,
Email me your home address. I have some info from the Feb. 1972 issue of Leatherneck Magazine that had been sent to me in regard to F/2/5 that I can send you.

Warren, Dahling--How nice of you to say so...Whatever I was being asked to do, the phrase "frag an officer" had not yet been invented--That was Vietnam...Truth is, it did not immediately dawn on me that "Taking care of the problem" might be so drastic as the remedy which you inferred. There is a long and ugly story about the havoc which this lieutenant was allegedly creating in the OP bunkers. Several of the endangered kids had once been in my platoon, (a kid buck sergeant myself), and so there was that further connection to the episode...If you were at the OPs in late March 53, then you were in the area when this whole thing occurred--and probably should understand how bad the situation was there at that time...You have misread something in my possibly poorly written post--I am not reveling (at my doddery 70 years of age) in the thought of killing a fellow Marine, or anyone else...Rather,I still regret not being able to help Marines who were themselves being killed (from what I was told) by an officer whose bizarre behavior was causing chaos and unnecessary casualties...
How does a platoon sergeant report to a colonel? The same way he also was Battalion Armorer, Mines&Demo man and a few other sidelines...Not everyone went by SOP stateside TOs (Table of Organization) during the Korean War, as you might recall from your own experiences.
As for me being Batty and fulla shit, read my book, HONOR CLEAN...Then decide...Peace, Brudder, and Semper Fi--BB

What happened to the thread about Vegas-Reno-Carson? It went blank. CrapShoot Alley was a helluva place. Anybody remember Lt. Ruthaven, and what he was doing inside the hole (of Vegas, I think)? Late winter of 53, I believe. He was my platoon leader going over in 52. I was the platoon sergeant. So when Ruthaven went bonkers months later, a Staff from some weapons inspection team asked if I would go and see if I could take care of the problem...
Know what I mean, Gyrenes? But my CO (Col. William Barber) said: "He's not going anywhere that I don't send him...I'm not sending him there because he won't be back." So the leftenant lived to F/Up another day for a lot of good kid Marines...I miss them still, and still regret I could not do for them what needed to be done...
Semper Fi, Ladies...as always--BB
