My father Donald Gene Underwood served in the army at camp Lejeune he was a tank
commander he didn't talk about the Korean war, but if you knew him you'd know he
was a good man. He brought back a lot of scars, do anyone know him.

Good evening!
I’m wondering if anyone may have served with my dad, Jay Bodnar:
First 90MM AntiAircraft Artillery Gun Battalion…Korea

He passed away in 1974, I was five years old.

Thought I’d give it a try as I’m going through some old documents.

Thank you, Merry Christmas
Melissa Bodnar Conner

I take care of my grandfather and have for years. Since my grandmother, his wife
died, he's been up and down. Mostly since covid. This is a very long shot, if
anyone knows him, Benjamin Masters. You have to go through me first, I'm
protective I'm his baby. I'll screen everything. I just want to bring something to
him, if I can, that will help him. He is having a hard time with what he went
through there.

My grandfather, Herman D. Welch was at Camp Lejeune in the
1950-51 time frame. I would like to find out which unit he was
in. All I know is that he was stationed at a radar base on a
mountain right on the Yellow Sea during the 1951-1953 range.

Hi, as most of you here my dad never talked about his
experience during his time in the Korean War, however he
has been talking up a storm you my youngest son and we
finally got him to show us his papers,it shows he was
awarded 4 medals w/2 bronze stars which he has never
received, so we are in the process of trying to have them
given to him. So any ways the dept of pride we have for him
as well as all of whom served with him goes well beyond
measures!! Thank you all, My dad Edward J Caron was 16 yrs
old when he joined the the National Guards -21 620 824
Company "H" 195th "Infantry NGoNH He was Honorably
Discharged 1952 he was at Camp Lejeune and served in the
Ammunition Company 2nd Ordnance Battalion FMF His 1st Lt
James J Quinn Commanding Officer. He served in the Korean
War 1953 February 21st to May 4th 1954 as AMMAsst 2311 He
participated in operations against emeny forces in South
and Central Korea and participated in the defense of UN
positions in Korea, I also know he drove a Sherman tank, if
there is anyone out there who may have served with him or
know anything about his being there, please reach out to us
as we would love to have more details of him so he can now
start the process of acceptance of his heroism which is
truly deserving of him, so when his medals are given to him
he can be as proud of him-self as we are, thank you and God
Bless!

Comments:

Hello, I recently received my fathers' (Jack Richard Haramut) military records amd I am not sure which unit was was assigned. I see 2d anglico FMF and 1st MCRRD, in the paperwork. He also was at Camp Lejeune in 1950-1951. He then went to Korea from there. It appears that he went back and forth to Korea several times in 1950, Jul, Sept and then again in Dec. He saw action in Pohang-dong, Inchon-Anyang-ni, Iwon, and Hungnam. My father never talked to anyone about his time in Korea, not even my mother. He has long passed (Nov 1991)but I still would like to know more about where he was and what he did while in ROK. His brothers were in the service and they don/t talk about their time either. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is a shot in the dark, but I am trying to trace a service man with the last name Waldon, I believe his first name is James - all I know is he had to be stationed in southern CA around November of 1950. I am not even sure what branch of the service he was in. He was around 19 years old. If this name rings a bell, please email me back.
