PFC Charles P Carroll Jr is my great-great uncle. I have information and pictures
of him. I know this thread is old, so the people seeking information may not even
be on here anymore, but just thought I'd reply to this just in case. Please email
me and I'd be happy to provide anything needed on him.

To the other gentleman who replied to this, I do not think this is the same
Charlie Carroll you served with. My uncle was stationed with the 2nd Marine
Division at Camp Lejeune for 2 years until they sent him to Korea in August 1950
and he was assigned to the 1st Marine Divison and landed at Inchon with them.

Comments:

MR. THOMPSON, I DON'T KNOW IF YOUR CHARLES CARROLL IS THE ONE
I KNEW AND SERVED WITH IN THE WPNS. BN. AT CAMPEN IN EARLY
1950. I WENT TO KOREA WITH THE BRIGADE IN JULY-AUG'50 AND LEFT
A SEABAG WITH CHARLES WHO, AS I REMEMBER, WAS TRANSFERRED TO
ANOTHER UNIT SCHEDULED TO SAIL LATER. HE WAS GOING TO TAKE HIS
GEAR AND MINE TO HIS HOME IN CALIFORNIA FOR STORAGE. MY DRESS
BLUES AND SOME MISC. GEAR, INCLUDING SOME BOOKS WERE IN THE
BAG. I LOST HIS CALIF. ADDRESS, ETC. WE NEVER GOT IN TOUCH
AFTER CAMPEN. I WAS IN SEOUL UNTIL THE FIFTH MARINES WAS SENT
TO WONSAN AND,THEN, TO THE CHOSEN RESERVOIR. I REMEMBER
CHARLES AS A GOOD MARINE AND FRIEND. SORRY I CAN'T OFFER MORE.
I WISH SUCCESS ON YOUR SEARCH. GOD BLESS AND SEMPER FI. ROGER.
