I am writing on behalf of my father Richard K. Bryant who
is a Korean War veteran. My father has Alzheimer's and
can not provide the family with any information about his
time spent in Korea. My curiosity is prompting me to find
out about this part of my father's life. I can not
provide you with much information except that he was in
Parris Island and Camp Pendelton. He spent time in Korea
from January 1953-July 1953. If you knew my father and
could provide me with any information it would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you,

Vicki Strengholt

That was the last parade I was in I went to Korea right
after that. Came back to El Toro no more parades. It was
nice to have been in the last Divisional Dress Blues Parade
ever

Hi Hugh,

I received the Leatherneck articles yesterday (09-01-07). They were all very interesting. The one I found to be most interesting was the page where the various catagories of C-Rations were displayed. The cover page where it showed the price of a Leatherneck at that time to be $.25 was unbelieveable. But that was 57 years ago.

Thanks,

Gy Hall

Hi Hugh,

I'm sure glad that you found something that verified the fact that there was a parade other than the one in March 1950.I have been looking for a picture of this parade for many years.

My Leathernecks don't go as far back as yours. I would appreciate very much if you would make me a copy of the article talking about the parade.

Thanks again.

Hi Hugh,

I received the picture today and it is in very good shape considering how old it is.After reviewing the picture and the date it was taken it is not the parade I participated in. I was still on Guam during March 1950.The parade I participated in was a Combat Review Parade. There was the troops, heavy equipment, Tanks, Amtracks, Trucks, and stuff I can't remember. There had to be two Parades spaced not too far apart.I just can't recall the month of the Parade in which I participated.

I want to thank you for this picture. If I ever manage to locate a picture of the Parade I was in I'll send you a copy.

I just received an E-Mail from a friend and a retired GySgt and he said that the Parade I was in was held during July 1950.

Again, thanks very much.

Dear Hugh,

I sent you an E-mail, but I'm replying to this Thread in case the E-mail gets lost.

I'm sure that the parade you mentioned was the one I had in mind. I couldn't remember just what month it was. I remember it took place not too long after we returned to the states from Guam in the 3rd Bn 5th Marines.

I would appreciate very much to get a copy of the picture. Please let me know the cost of the picture and the shipping charges.

My address is.

Thanks very much for answering the Thread.

Does anyone remember the 1st Marine Division parade at camp Pendelton in May 1950. I am looking for some pictures of the parade, if any were made. I have looked every where and haven't been able to locate any.Any information would be appreciated.
