Have you been to DANFS? (Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships) It will give you the ship's history.

I was on the Leo 51-52. We often relieved the Whiteside on station in Korean waters and vis versa. We carried ammo to the fleet rearming Carriers and other ships of the line. I believe the Whitside did the same. I'll look through my old photos for pictures.

I will keep an eye out for pictures and info on the Whiteside, please do the same for us. We are developing a Web Page for the Leo.

I am a Korean War buff who served with lots of great men on the USS Whiteside AKA90 from '52-'54. She was at Inchon before I boarded her. I know she made eight or more crossing of the Pacific from San Francisco mostly to Sasebo, Japan. Where else was she and what she do during the early part of the Korean War.

Thanks
