Ed, Even though my info probably won't help, I'll send it anyway. My dad, Howard A. McMillan (Howie to some)was aboard the Bon Homme Richard during 1951. He was probably gone when you were on the Oriskany. Dad was stationed at Los Alamitos in So. Cal. and eventually ended up as the skipper of the squadron. "Collie" Oveland was the skipper of VF-781 when they volunteered en-masse to go to Korea. After Korea dad flew for Western Airlines, stayed in the reserves and eventually became, I'm told, the first USNR Captain on the west coast. I haven't seen any of dad's old squadron mates for some time. Dad died in 1971. Question: I'm curious as to why VF 781 was split up with some of you on the Oriskany and others on the Bon Homme Richard.

If noting else, I hope you find these tidbits interesting. Take care. Sincerely, Gerry McMillan
