Served on LST 1101 (Saline County) from 1952 to 1955. Would like to hear from shipmates.

Hello Robert........
Man, have I been looking for a long time trying to find information on LST 1101, USS SALINE COUNTY!!!
I was with a 4.2 Motar Regiment, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Div and we participated in operations and manuvers on
board her off Okinawa and out in the China Sea areas. I was a radioman with the Marines and assigned to OR Div on board, standing radio watch until we had to depart the ship. Maybe you remember this trip because we were in hurricane weather and very rough seas. Had to stand up to eat in the mess deck and hold on to the metal trays because they kept sliding away when the ship rolled. Do you have info on where she is today? Please send photos and/or POC, where to go for info etc. Thanks Robert for keeping LST 1101 ALIVE!
