All I can find it was sold for scarp as was about all DE'S were.I was not on the DE-444. Iwas an ET {elect.tech.} on the USS Earl K Olsen DE-765.Log in on DESA [Destroyer Escort Sailors Association }@ http;//www.desausa.org that will get you in to the history of DE's and photo. Yes I am a ameteur K4CNB.Will send anything else I run across.There is a photo of the 444.

DE444 was stricken from the register on 3-1-72...sold on 111-20-72.From Dictionary of American Fighting Ships.There are a lot of hits on thr net {United States Navy}.Hope this will help.

USS GOSS DE-444 served in a task force with USS MISSOURI on the signing of WW2 surrender of the Japanese in TOYKO BAY. Does anyone know where she might be found today?
