My dad's full name was Thomas A Colon or Rodriguez, and he
went by the name Tommy. His two last names, one was his
dad's one was his mom's but he may have only used one in
the service. I don't know much about my dad's service in
the Navy, however, he did talk about being in Korea. He
also said he cooked on the ship, and always had his guitar
with him as he loved to play. He was a short guy, Puerto
Rican, who grew up in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY.

After my pops died in 1992, one of his Navy buddies sent a
letter, which my brother received. He subsequently lost
the letter, but that was followed by a phone call, I
believe almost two years after he passed away. His Navy
buddy was reaching out to get in touch for a reunion. My
brother, again, didn't get enough info for us to follow
up. This was the only real proof we had of my dad's
service, as when his mom died, many records were lost or
discarded.

If you served with him or knew him, we would love to have
more info on his service, and any stories for posterity.
Would like also to make sure he was recognized properly.
