27 August, 2008 has been designated as Veterans Day at the Shenandoah County Fair. A day to honor and recognize the contributions of the men and women, past and present, who have service in the U.S. military.
Exhibits and demonstrations include Rolling Thunder and their big noisy bikes, the Fort Lee Dixie Land Jazz Band, meeting the founders of the USAF Thunder Birds, a National Guard exhibit with Dale Earnhardt Jr's National Guard NASCAR # 88, personnel from the Martinsburg, WV veterans hospital to explain eligibility for veterans benefits and much more.
