My Father served aboard the Badoeng Strait during at least one of it's tours of duty off Korea. He died in 1970 at the age of 41. I've been searching for anyone who knew him during the war. I was only twelve when he died so I don't have much to go on. Just the name of the ship and that he flew the gunner's position in a TBM. His term of service was October 1948 to October 1952. He held the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class and his name was Eugene "Sonny" Reid Jr. from Jacksonville, Alabama. He would have been classified as Negro but looked more Meditteranian or Hispanic. 6'2" and about 195lbs. Also, anyone knowing exactly what TBM squadrons served during the Korea tours could help me out. Thanks Gentlemen.
