I was at Hovy in 54 and55, My phone number is 949 640 7834, please call me , and tell me all about Hovy, I was with the 707 0rd Bn, along the creek next to the MP check point to go to the village where we could no t go
It was the worst boring time of my life , we spent half the time on patrol DMZ, always in winter, spent 16 months and 9 days in that rotten place , Food, terrable just a waist of time

I enjoyed your story about the "Z" during the 88/89 timeframe. I was there in 87/88 as a tanker with 1-72 Armor. I believe Casey and Hovey were right next to each other. Our BC liked to do 5 mile death runs to Hovey and back (not bad for DATS). I was also attached to the infantry on the Z the first couple months I was in Korea (the reserve based at Howze). A ROK troop got shot out of a guard post on our right flank in late 87.

You will be interested in the article at the link below. It was published in the Korean War Veterans 2006 November/December issue. The article starts on page 50 and happened roughly during the same time you were there. Good reading.
