Radar Site 11 location(?)
Co-NCOIC 1977-78, A Trp 4/7 Cav, 2ID. Based out of Camp Garry Owen.
I cannot remember the exact location of my Radar Site. Familiarity breeds
contempt, I saw the location in documents everyday, but for whatever reason, I
cannot now remember the exact location on the Imjin River where we watched with
our AN/PPS5A Ground Surveillance Radar. I’ve searched the net for anything
about our Radar Sites during the time I served there 77-78, very very limited
info available, and any photos found was not of our site(?)
Does anyone have a list or map where all our radar sites are located during this
time period ?
Advance thanks to anyone who can shed light on this.

Back in Those days, I was SSG Payne, the DMZ Security Analyst to include Radar
Site 6 and 7 Assigned to HHC 1st BDE, 2nd Inf Div, Camp Casey from 1984-1985.
Sorry I did not get a Chance to Visit the Sites more often. As a WO1 in 1989-
1990, I did the same job while Assigned to HHC 2nd Inf Div, G2 at Camp Casey.

I was a SGT on Site 11 (77-78) Out of Camp Gary Owen. Had an awesome crew! We were
fortunate enough to have some site improvements. One was a basketball goal of
which I put my sons initials CME in the concrete base.

my time? For the rest of you, we have a few Facebook pages
for the ROMEOS. We had a great reunion in Nashville last

the guys name that got killed (i remember it was Indy 500
week and he was ahuge fan). I also remember it was our

Hey, not sure if you remember me, (Backe). I was on site 6
with you for about 6 months of your time before i left
(June 84-June 85).

That little village at the bottom of the hill, and i don't
know the Korean spelling, it was pronounced, Oke-er-ree.

Some would say i'm confused with the town out the back gate
of Hovey, but that was Toke-er-ree. Very similar.

I remember you playing the guitar at night. Anyway, hope
all is well with you.
