Does anybody have any recollection of any events surrounding this helicopter crash in the Sea of Japan 11-27-1968? My first husband, CWO-2 Julius Harold "Harry" Ingram (age 20)was one of the five fatalities. I have a copy of the Dec 6, 1968 Pacific Stars & Stripes and all five men who died are listed. The others are: 1Lt. Richard J. Griggs, age 21 Spec 4 Terrence D. Miller, 20 PFC Gary A. Holz, 19 Lt Col. William L. Smith, 47 "The copter from the 6th Aviation Platoon, US I Corps Group, was returning to the US Air FOrce's small field near Kangnung, 100 miles east of Seoul, when radar contact was lost. The craft was being used to transport ROK security forces in the intensive manhunt for the remainder of the more than 60 North Korean Infiltrators who landed along the coast early last month." (From the article)
Note that one of the names differs from the list given in the BB. Griggs is listed where a Richard Edwards was listed on the other. I looked in another index and Edwards died on the same day in Korea, but of illness/disease.
I was also hoping the Marsha A. Brown who posted in 2001 might see this. Her phone is no longer in service for the number listed.

Does anybody have any memories or information about a helicopter crash on 11-27-1968 near Kangnung, Korea? I believe these were the five men killed:
Julius Harold Ingram, CWO, Pilot, from Montgomery, AL Gary A. Holz, Spec4, door gunner Terence D. Miller, Spec 4 Richard V. Edwards, Spec 6 William L. Smith, Lt Col.
My first husband was Julius Harold "Harry" Ingram. I know his body was never recovered and I don't know about the rest. They crashed in the Sea of Japan, were missing for several weeks, then declared dead.
I would like to know more and also to contact Marsha E. Brown, who posted a message in 2001 about this same event.
Harry was in the 6th Aviation Platoon, Black Hats. He went through flight school and served with Bob Cadarr, who left info in an earlier post about this unit.
