and ambush none stop with in a 30 day period. Over the years I have lost a lot of
my military information and my cfile has poor quality copies of everything that I

I am trying to find missing records/information for my late husband A1C
James R. Fisher who was stationed at Osan AFB from March 1967 to late
September 1968. He had three major assignments which do not reflect on his
dd214. He was a Budget Specialist attached to the 2146th Communications
Group, also was a radio repair man , receiving and handling broken and
contaminated radio equipment coming into Osan from Vietnam. Also he
functioned as a Stars and Stripes reporter/photographer and visited the DMZ
on weekends to speak with and photograph troops and also visited many camps
along the DMZ to talk with troops during their off duty time about hobbies,
etc. He flew as a passenger, on C123s as transport to Tokyo with stops in
Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, picking up and dropping off individuals along
the way. Yet we cannot find any of this information written down. Form 7
of the Air Force reads like a day at the beach, no record of any activity.
Does anyone remember being in contact with Jim from Osan? Please email me
at. Lindaq401@aol.com
Thanks

I was in Korea 1968-1969, sent TDY to DMZ when they released crew of USS Pueblo. The National Archives for Military Records in St. Loius sent only partial records when I filed for my comp. I have had high blodd pressure since I was 25, and was diagnoised with Type 2 Diabetes in 2005. In 2007 I was forced to retire early due to central nervous system neuropathys. That affect my ability to process nuerological information. (Typing this has been very difficult). Also, PTSD from a noncombat death of a guy named Gage.
Some of my record are missing, Gage had accidentally been drafted in 1967 and sent to RVN. He was the surviving son of a vet killed in Korea in 1950. His mother got a congressman to get him out of RVN, then he died of an alcohol over dose in Korea(Co. A, 304th Sig Bn, Camp Baker). There seems to be now record of this soldier, smells of cover up. It's as if John never exsisted. But the guilt I feel is very real.

I received a letter from Department of the Army with DA Regulations in regard to prohibitions against destroying service medical records(SMR's). My records were in error, some not documented and many were destroyed in my presence at my separation physical in Korea January or February 1970. There had to be orders or procedures somewhere that allowed such destruction of SMR's regardless of DA regulations. Does anyone stationed in Army Personnel or Medica Services that was aware of such record destructions? Contact me at mcgr3799@bellsouth.net

I am preparing a report to go to Congress about the problems Vets are having getting VA benefits for service in Korea during the Cold War Era. If you have had problems proving service in Korea plese email me. Several vets I know have no proof they were ever in Korea during the 1960's. Their records are unlock and key somewhere and it is extremely hard to get the VA to recognise that they were ever outside the USA when they were actually in Korea. One Vet I know had Korea as his last duty station and NOTHING SHOWS UP ON HIS DD 214. I need to know if others have missing records and just how many. I would like to submit this report to congress By January 2006 at the latest.
