I was stationed with Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 2nd Infantry Division
from 1971 thru 1972. I was assigned to the Division Inspector General's office
(LTC John. J. Mizell) as the IG's driver, Admin Specialist, and the Unit
Inspection Team's main Stenographer and report typist. I'm looking to find a
copy of any Division photographs that might contain images of me with HHC. A
copy of the 1971 or 1972 yearbook would be a plus. I've exhausted just about
every resource I can think of to find any such pictures. No success. If anyone
can point me in the right direction to acquire any such yearbooks or photos I'd
greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

I served from 7/70 thru 7/71 at the MSA 31 on Camp Casey. Looking for anyone
who has information or buddy letters that confirm the spraying of AO. I
remember sitting in the towers on duty watching the locals spraying the sides
of the mountains with backpacks on. They were also escorted by the dog
handlers and we were instructed that they would be in the bunker area and
others would be in the wire around the fence line. If anyone remembers seeing
the locals spraying or were station at the MSA I sure could use your help.
Thank you

Camp Casey was the closest large camp to where I was stationed in 1972-73. I
was actually in a small camp but I cannot remember the name of it. It was
right behind the movie theater--had a small gym and a barber shop. Does
anyone remember this place or me?

Looking for anyone who might have the HHC 1/72 camp Casey Korea
1971 or 1972 yearbook . Need a picture in it of me with a cast on to prove
my medical injury claim since the army can't find my 14 months of records I
was there& Convenient for them ! I was a combat medic with the
dispensary and there was a picture of everyone in a group photo holding
me up on a stretcher. I would be eternally grateful to anyone who has that
picture to prove my claim otherwise they say I have no evidence even
though they lost my medical records. Thanks again! Brian Eckart. 1-828-

I was an Infantry Officer stationed at Camp Casey and
traveled almost daily across the Imjin River to deliver food
and hold down observation posts or conduct recons. Many a
time we were fired upon. Upon arriving in country, I took
over a platoon that carried me head on to a jeep that had
four bullet holes in it......four us troops were killed the
day before. I was there for 18 months and left June 1971.
It is sad to have to almost beg for one's benefits. Sort
of makes you wish you had not volunteered. HMMM. I was wit

Comments:

Hi,

My husband, Albert Lara, was in the 2nd Supply and Transport Battalion
Infantry Division and left me the Camp Casey Korea 1971 yearbook. He
worked in the motor pool and is the foxy shorter one with the dark hair
and mustache.

He died in 2008 of a rare blood cancer called multiple myeloma. His girls,
grandkids, and I
miss him so very much. He did leave a legacy in so many aspects of his
life.

Multiple myeloma is related to the agent orange exposure in the area at
the time, but I also, like too many others need to prove for an appeal that
he was closer to the dmz to qualify for a survivor's death benefit. Please
email me if you have any feedback. At sometime, it may be acknowledged
that all of our Vets in that area were highly exposed to the toxin.

God bless and I hope that you are doing well.

Linda Lara

awarded the C.I.B, what's up with that bull. Keep up the

My husband died 8 months ago from lung cancer. He was
stationed at Camp Casey in 70-71. I believe he was a
computer technician doing payroll etc. His name was Edward
Van Buren, from Butler PA. He said he also pulled guard
duty from time to time on the DMZ. Can anyone verify that
this was common practice? I have a claim for AO exposure,
but have to prove he was on the DMZ.

I was stationed at Cp. Custer HHC 1/38 Inf in Feb 1967. I did a short tour (30-days) with C-1/9 when it was discovered that I was only 17 and across the river. I went back to 1/38 after the 30 days. I also made the move from Cp. Custer to Cp. Casey. Glad to hear someone is still around that made that move.
