Am writing for my Dad, Leo Desmarais from Winchendon, Mass.-he was stationed in Korea 1953-4- was at the 38th parallel when the armistice was signed...he was wondering if anyone remembers Capt. Story, or Joe somebody who's father owned a deli and he'd share homemade pepperoni with all the guys when he'd get a package from home. Some of his comrades were John E. Phillips, Co.C (KIA 7/53), Bill Bendzer from New Britain, Conn., Arther Benoit, Sommerville, Ma, Sgt. Brown, Sandy, CoyleJimmy Johnson from S. Boston. My Dad was with the Ok.Army Nat'l Guard 45th Div., 279th Regiment, Dog Company 81 Mortars- also was with the 24th Infantry Division at the end before he went home. He was a prison guard on Chejudo Island for awhile and remembers the orphanage and missionary priest who said Mass for them every week-He remembers Yangu Valley and Yong Dong Po Valley. am I jarring any memories out there? Hope so- he'd love to hear from anyone who remembers him out there- hope to hear from you- and thanks for all you did- I know - I have a sone in the USN- thanks again- Elaine Pierce
