My father died of acute agnogenic myeloid metaplasia (leukemia). He served 1953
-1955 in the 12th Chemical Co. Maintenance. He died in 1973 at age 40. He left
six children. Highly likely his death was connected to his service in the Korean
War.

My father served in the US Army in the Korean War from Nov 17, 1950 to May 31,
1953. He was injured by Trip Flare in a field in Korea and lost use of his
right arm. He was also diagnosed with leukemia just 10 years later, and died
in 1964 at the age of 36. I know that no one has written on this blog in a
few months. Please email me if there is any updated information on this
subject and whether anyone has pursued a claim. Thank you.

My father served two tours in Korea. Both times in the infantry. He also
served 2 tours in Vietnam (1968, 1971). Around March,1972 he was
diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and died in August at the age of 41. Blood
born cancers do not run in our family. Witness his twin sister, just
celebrated her 85th birthday and his 5 children ages 49 to 60 with no
cancer of any type.

He died With 19 years and 6 mos of active service. The govt said his death
wasn't related to Agent Orange, but it is difficult to accept that. Mistakes
are
made all the time. Any information that would help me either eliminate AO
as the cause or actually indict AO, would be greatly appreciated.

My husband served in the Korean war in the Army. He
recently passed from Acute Leukemia. He shared stories
about his service on the front line calling fire strikes
and the problem with malaria. He shared was sprayed with
DDT along with the trenches where he spent days and weeks
over a two and a half year period contributed to his
cancer. Does anyone have any conclusive research to
substantiate this or have you been successful in getting VA
compensation for this?

My husband, served with the USAR ARTY, second army area H/S Co
140th tank battalion in Korea 1952 -1954 WH VECH MECH and TRACK
VEH MECH. My husband developed Diabetes Mellitus type 11, several
strokes, x-ray in 1994 found shrapnel in chest, pace maker implanted
12/27/94, many seizures, cataract surgery, bleeding in colon, transfusions
for blood loss - B CELL LYMPHOMA. SOCIAL SECURITY DEEMED HIM
DISABLED 1/25/97 after reviewing records they received from hospitals,
Rehab facilities, Neurologist, cardio thoracic surgeon and
gastroenterologist . He passed away from B-Cell Lymphoma on 12/4/2000
I have tried unsuccessfully to get his Military Records , because of the
shrapnel in his chests he should of received a Purple Heart. Field records
should be able to prove this, but I have a letter from National Personnel
Records saying his records were destroyed in a fire 7/12/73
I feel that all his medical problems were initiated by the Korean War 1952-
1954. Is there anyone else out there with the same problems I have had
VA will not listen to anything I have to say.

My father served in the Army and fought in the Punch Bowl area of Korea
in 1952. He passed away from Acute Leukemia in March of 1970 only 4
months after being diagnosed with it. He was only 37. We have no family
history of cancer in our family. These posts help confirm what I've thought
for a long time.

My father was in the Korean war, although he was stationed
stateside. The war ended before he would have been shipped
out. He died of Acute Leukemia in July, 1979, after a
roughly 2 year illness. I have always believed it was
related to his time in the army, as this cancer does not
run anywhere on either side of the family. This page is
convincing me that I may be correct.

My grandfather passed away from ALS in 1989. He was with

the 28th Infantry division and was station over in Germany.

I am trying to see if there would be a chance that his ALS

is some how connected to him being a veteran of the Korean

Conflict even though he was station in Germany. I am trying

to get as much information as I can for the VA. The Mayo

Clinic doctor told him, my grandma and my dad that his ALS

could have been caused by chemicals in the 1950's. Any help

with getting any kind of information to give to the VA

would be of great help to me

My grandfather died 13 years ago From leukemia... After researching
vaccinations and deciding not to vaccinate my children, I believe that the
yellow fever vaccine and polio vaccine among others our military were
forced to take have a direct correlation to their inevitably contracting the
disease... The yellow fever vaxx itself contained leukemia...

I lost my father in 1973 from Multiple Myeloma. He was 56. I was 15. His cancer was caused from radiation exposure in Japan while in the Korean war. I have tried for years to locate anyone who might remember him. No luck! I have found not one person. I have pretty much convinced myself that his fellow soldiers contacted the deadly cancer also, & they too are deceased.

My father too recently passed away from years of battling with leukemia. He had the chronic type (CLL) but was stationed in Germany during the Korean War near a large communications tower. His doctors had said they believed he got his disease while there. I was wondering who else had similar experiences. Glad to know others out there question the same.
