My father served in the 44th Engineer & Construciton Battalion from March 1952 - March 1954. He has never talked much at all about the war, I recently started researching family history for a geneaology, and asked my dad a few questions, and he asked me if I could find anything out about the boat he came home on (USS Buckner), after all these years he sort of wanted to talk about the war, just a little, anyway today he said 'can you find people on your computer? I responded, yes you can find just about anything on the net. He wanted me to see if I could find 'his buddy' from his battalion or find out what ever happened to him. The person he's looking for is James Kramer and he was from Reading, Pa. Anyone know this person or anyone else in the same battalion during these dates? They returned to Camp Kilmer in New Jersey when they were discharged in 1954. My dad turned 76 this year, hope there are still some of these guys still out there.

I was in the 44th engineering battalion in Korea from July 1954 for about a year before it was turned over to the South Korean Army.
