Comments:

I'm looking for any information anyone has or anyone who who my family members
who served in the Korean War. All were from Frederick County, Maryland. Most
information below is from newspaper articles and Ancestry.

My grandfather- Sgt. George Norman Stevens Jr. Drafted in November 1951 and sent
to Camp Breckinridge, KY. In Jan 1952, he was assigned to the 40th Infantry
Division. When he arrived in Korea in June 1952 he was assigned to the 5th RCT,
555th FAB, 72nd Engineer company according to news articles. We believe he may
have been a mechanic in Korea, as that was his profession at home and was a
certified Chevrolet Mechanic.

He did not talk about his military service at all. Passed in 1996.

His brothers-
Cpl. John Robert "Bob" Stevens. Discharged in October 1954. Believed to have
been assigned to 223rd Infantry Regiment, 41st Infantry Division, Company L. May
have also been a part of the 101st Airborne Division when in Korea. May have
been stationed at Geo. G Meade in 1954.

He passed in 1991 and has a military plaque at his grave.

James A Stevens. Drafted in October 1952. Believed to have been a part of the
5th RCT, 555th FAB and is said to have operated heavy equipment. Was stationed
at Fort Richardson, Alaska for a few years.

Passed in 2015 but did not speak much about his time in the military outside of
his station in Alaska.
