Looking for anyone who may have known my grandfather, Lamar Morris, during his time in Korea. He was a farmboy from Alabama and I believe he was a BAR man. He was transferred to I Co on August 16, 1952. After July 26, 1953 he was transferred to HQ Co and was the commander's driver (I believe). On one of the rare occasions he talked about Korea, he described some brutal hand-to-hand combat, and while in HQ, he hit a landmine while driving a jeep shortly before coming home, and leaving him with shrapnel in his hip. He has an album full of photos that I'd love to share.
My grandad was not the best speller at the time so some of these may not be entirely correct, but some of the names and photos I have are:
James J. Connolly Donald M. Long Weyman Griffin Eugene E. Dean Richard H. Wright Edward Collins Robert Coffey Williard Burnham Ramon Garcia-DeJesus Merle E. Vulgamore Sylvester Tailor? (could not make out the spelling on the photo) John W. New, Jr Earn R Yeargin Chief Okemah? (again, could not make out spelling) Richard Wright Lt. Elmer (no last name given) Cheff (no last name given) Finkle (no last name given) Woods (no last name given)
There are some photos without names listed as well.
