I'm researching my dad's military duty in Korea. Conrad Praski, 179th infantry division. Dad died in 2000 from lung cancer, so I can't ask him questions. However, I'm happy to chat with any of his buddies and let them know about his life after Korea.
Dad didn't talk much about his time in Korea. I know from research that the 179th was an Oklahoman national guard unit. Was it common for drafted men to end up in a national guard unit?
