Hello, I am writing this on behalf of my grandpa John Amoruso, he was the front desk clerk at the Chosen Hotel for the duration of the war. He has a mountain of photos of his friends in the unit as well as several CO's including Colonel Donald Richardson, Gen. Van Fleet, Ridgway etc. Does anyone remember their time at the hotel?? He used to make spaghetti dinner for everyone who came by, it was a big hit that Gen. Taylor had it served during his visit in 1953. He worked the desk with his korean assistant, Miss Yoon. John Amoruso was from Brooklyn, loud and boisterous, and has many photos of the MP's on duty there as well as ordinance etc. I would be willing to share if anyone was on the base and thinks they would be in these photos!
I am currently working with an author in Korea who is compiling stories about the hotel for a book, specifically from the colonial era.
