I was stationed at camp Kaiser, A Battery 7th Battalion 5th Artillery Hawk from
Aug 67 - March 68.
I was traveling with 3 other solders from camp Kaiser to camp Page on 8/14/1967 in
a 3/4 ton mail truck, about half way to camp Page we were forced off the road by a
2 1/2 ton truck full of Koreans & rolled over into a river. Looking for info on
the 3 guys with me or anyone who remembers the incident. Thanks....

Looking for Veterans who served in 7th Bn 2nd Arty Battery D Hawk Missile Site
in Korea from 1970 to 1971. Got denied 4 times on my claim for severe Peripheral
Neuropathy. Anyone who knows about Agent Orange spraying in and out of our
compound. Who can remember about a little Boy who was run over by one of our 21/2
ton truck. We also had a dog named roundstep who stayed in our compound. I think
our CO was Lieutenant Wall. I have photos of some Veterans who served with me. I
also have photos of dead brown landscape in and out of our compound and the
Missile site up on the hill that was dead during the 15 months I was there.

To All of you Korean Veterans out there still, there is hope for you to get
information about Agent Orange Claims information. There is enough research that
has been done over the last ten years or so. When I started research for my
claim I had Served in Korea in 1967-68 and also in Thailand in 1968-69. In the
last several years the VA has admitted to Agent Orange in many Asian Countries
during the Vietnam War.

I can a test to the fact that it's not easy to find information of our record of
where we were and when. But it's out there! Please don't give up on your rights
to these benefits. I have talked to many veteran's that have fought their claims
for many years without any luck winning them.

I was only 17 years old when I got to Korea. So I know that many veteran's and
the time to file is running short. Only after some heart and other medical
issues did I start the process of filing a claim. There lots of obstacles and
barriers you have jump over and thorough. But it can be done. It takes hard work
and continued effort, but the veterans that served in Korea and other areas of
the world through heat, cold and adversities can get the job done.

I will continue to monitor this message board to help in any way I can.
Understand that each case/ claim is viewed by VA as individual. You have to make
your Claim real to them or any of the participating VA Medical Consultants. You
have had your life affected by the issues in your claim.

God Bless and Good Luck!

I was at a US Army Camp/ Rock Army Camp near the DMZ. I was there 66-67 part of
the 38th Brigade. D Battery Hawk Missile Company. I found the camp and missile
site on maps from someone who was working on an Agent Orange claim.
It helped my research work on where and when herbicides were used in the time I
was in Korea.
My memories of of my time there is fading but I did purchase red company book
that I archive information from when need too.
I feel saddened that so many that served there did not get VA benefit's that
should have.
God Bless all that served there then and now.

pump up sprayers and sprayed the mountain top perimeter. I have no reason to
believe he is lying. He was also sent to cambodia or laos to set up hawk sites

I believe A battery was just below the DMZ cause we could see North Korean guard
post from the top of our missile site.
I still remember crossing the 38th parallel bridge many times trying to explain
to the guards what we were carrying in our shop vans we used to support Radar
Sites.
Want to know if anyone got a VA Disability for the agent Orange used while we
were there?

I was in 2/71 from 1973 to 1976. Here is what I remember:
1. 2/71 was the most forward of all 4 battalions of 38th brigade.
2. The units were:
HHB - in Camp Red Cloud - the TAC location was the hill behind CRC
(Hill 468), OC-71. The hill was also known as Concorde site. I do remember
local Korean contractors spraying between the double fence of the site
because we had discovered a radio with Russian writing. It indicated to us
that there may be North Korean agents spying on us. From the time I was
stationed there I know that two of the guys have passed, and I have diabetes
(Type II). All three of us did multi-year tours.

I was in the 38th, we were called mountain men. The village below the site was
sin chong ne.our site was beyond the old dmz . It was extremely cold. We lived
in huts kept warm by kerosene heaters. I think we did two days on and two days
off on the tactical site. I was Spec 5 Graham during my six month stay.

I was the PLL clerk at the tack site. Warrant Officer Mr Knutt was my boss
we had 2 days up and 2 days down at base camp / small village outside the
camp

Our captain was a young man consumed with politics and was not a fair person

We lived in quansit huts with kerosene heaters

I was only 17 the youngest in the battery

So many things I remember. I remember my good friend Boo Boo who turned
me on to the best music of the times

another named Klien who turned out to be an escaped convict who enlisted in
the army under an assumed name.

Winters we drank heavily, summers we would swim in the cold mountain river

It was so cold on the mountain top we would walk guard and then climb into
the generator cabs to stay warm and take a nap

I got scared on guard duty one night and discharged my rifle, shot a rabbit
and caused an investigation

The country was beautiful. the mountains and valleys. you could se for 30
miles on a clear day

THe dougnut dollies came once and took a liking to me because I was so young

I could go on and on

69-70 Camp Bray....A Btry, 2nd Bn (Hawk), 71st Arty, 38th Artillery Brigade.
Closest Hawk Btry to the DMZ... 3 hr march to the DMZ. Can't locate Camp Bray
on any maps. Does anyone remember the Chemical Corps with Katusas spraying
herbicides around the perimeter fence of the Admin area & the Tac site up on
the hill perimeter fence?

I was in Alpha, 2nd of the 71st, 1970-1971. It was a pretty decent time. I had
hoped to get there as I knew I'd never pay to go there as a civilian. At Bliss

I was assigned as a helo pilot to A CO 2nd BAT. 2nd inf div Stanton AAF.
There I flew VIP & logistics support within the DMZ. We routinely operated
on helo Pads and LZs within the blue lancer valley visiting artillery and
missile sites. I’m positive many of our operations exposed us to agent
orange used to clear our landing areas. I recall camp red Cloud was R.C.-1
and R.C.-2. But I forgot the names of many
of the others.

Do you remember or know of any other landing areas that used agent orange.

Thanks Paul. 5712285728.

I am trying to identify a Hawk Missile Site and ROKA post location near the
DMZ. I have photographs but do not remember the locations. I was in the Air
Force maintaining a radar site near the DMZ. Any information will help.
Thanks,
Wade Ellison
