Found my father-in-law's unit information: 1st Cavalry, 8th Regiment, 3rd Battalion, HQ & HQ Company. He was at Camp Crawford on Hokkaido, Japan. The Camp was just outside of Sapporo.
Would anyone have information on this unit about this time? Apparently, they were ready for deployment if the North Korean's resumed hostilities. His name is Raul A. Gutierrez.

Hello,
I am trying to find information on my father-in-law's unit in Korea. He says he served with the 1st Cavalry Division in Korea and that he was stationed at Camp Crawford, Japan. He never made it to Korea. What little I have of his paperwork says that he was a combat engineer (1729). Can anyone tell me what engineer unit was at the Camp between early 1953 and late 1954?
