Hi
I was in Korea in 1967 and 1968. I'm opening an Agent Orange investigation, I
can't remember the name of the Camp I was assigned to..
My unit was A Battery, 6th Battalion 12th Artillery. I was told it was Alex
Williams. I've seen many pictures but can't recognize any.
Can anyone Help!!!

Served in 6th msl bn 8th arty at Camp Williams from 63-64. The Lacrosse Missle was
decommissioned in late 63. A fellow named Newton and I, were recruited to play on
the I Corp basketball team. I Corp sent a chopper to Camp Williams to pick us up.
We were assigned sleeping quarters in the Camp St. Barbara gym after joining the I
Corp Bball Team. Some members of the team were: Jewell D. Perry, The Kruft Twins,
Clark, Canada, Kehoe, A guy we called baby hewy (can't remember his name), Newton,
and me. The coach was a Lt. named Hagen; I think he was related to Cliff Hagen who
played with the St. Louis Hawks pro team.
After the Corps. competitions were finished, Perry, Newton, Clark, Canada, and me
were assigned to the ASCOM team in ASCOM City.

Hello I want to start by saying thank you all for your service. The bravery is
so admirable.

My grandfather is Larry Buckles. He is really like my father. He adopted me at
10 & raised me my entire life.

He was drafted in 1966 & November that year he was sent to Fort Bragg then to
Fort Jackson for training if I'm not mistaken. He then went to Korea & was in
Camp Alex Williams from April 1967 - May 1968 he did a 13 month tour. He was
promoted to Sgt while serving.

I'm so proud to be his granddaughter. He lost all his military things in a house
fire. I'm trying to figure out how I can replace his uniform & insignias. I want
to surprise him because his father's house caught fire like 40 years ago & he's
not seen nothing military related since then. I want to surprise him with a
replica of his uniform & insignias just to show him that we haven't forgot his
service to the country. I want to show him how much we appreciate his sacrifice.

If anyone knows how to replace these things or even just knows him feel free to
text 2764699399 or email tabbi44@gmail.com. I am so appreciative of all you
brave people. Thank you for your sacrifice for our country. You'll never be
forgotten. God bless

Hi Ken. Service in Korea from Feb68 to Mar69 at MSA#8 Camp Alex Williams top
of the hill MP guards. Spent many a night in towers and gate guard shack.
Also with the K-9 dog crew Serving with us. Good memories of Korea and TDC,
Camp Casey, village of South Sagi ,and Uijongbu. One trip to Seoul with
Takwando team from AlexW. MP guys were a great crew... lot of good times in
NCO club and OB beer. I remember USS Pueblo incident, Tree Chop at Bridge of
no return, and NK infiltrators up in mountains around us. Bob Hope at Camp
Casey, nice little shows at NCO club, at trips to TDC clubs. Lot of good
guys with me kept me safe ... Leroy Suggs, Ron Weitakamp, Jim Irving, Joe
Savoda in K9, SGT Rock, Bobby Maguire, and many more. We liked it when u
guys in artillery battery at bottom of hill, went out for field trips. We
had the base to ourselves.. Had a little dog mascot Mort... went off base
one to many times.., never came back . Mostly I like the Army experience
and Korean people. Returned to Korea 1982 with my wife mostly stayed in
Seoul and nearby areas. Overall good experience my Army year in Korea.

Stationed at Camp Alex Williams Korea from Oct. 1962 to Nov. 1963. At that
time it was a LaCrosse Guided Missile outfit. It was the best of times, it
was the worst of times.

I was at Camp Alex Williams form 1965-1966. FDC (Fire
Direction Center) for 175mm. I had guard duty when it was 52
degrees below zero and got my hands frost bit. WE carried a
12 gage sawed off shotgun on guard duty. I was section chief
for FDC the last 8 months I was there. Memories will never
fade.
