My father, Jesse Bowes , was born in 1933. He enlisted at 17, was in the Airforce
from 1950 to 1954. He was stationed in Texas, then sent to Washington state at a
radar base. He did radar and demolition work there. He signed back up after the 4
years and joined the Army. He spent most of his time in Fort Bragg, NC. He did
blister gas training and became a paratrooper. We have not been able to locate
anyone who may have served with him.His records were burned in 1973.
Unfortunately, daddy was exposed to asbestos in service but there are no records.
He was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in January of this year. He has expressed a
desire to find some buddies while he can and I just found this site today

Comments:

I am looking for anyone who served in the 82nd Airborne
division. My grandfather, Walter Huff, was a Sergeant First
Class. I don't know much as he didn't like to talk about the
war. He died in 1976, before I was born. I know he went to
jump school in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He was born in 1930 in
Indiana, if that helps. I have a photo as well. I am really
desperate for information. Please feel free to forward my
information on to anyone who could help. Thank you so much!
