I was in the 1903rd EAB from November 1950 to the end of October 1952. All the
SCARWAF units were assigned to the 5th Air Force. As to suggestions on how to
find records of a person's service: Everyone was given a Form DD-214 upon
separation from the service and were supposed to file it with the county clerk
or recorder in the county which they listed as being their home location at
time of discharge so that would be a good place to begin your search. Have you
checked with the Engineer Museum at Fort Leonard Wood? Good Luck

My dad was in SCARWAF.
He passed away January 2017.
Took him to ANC.
I am trying to prove it to Arlington, so we may put it on
his headstone.
The fire in the 1950's destroyed so many records.
If you find out how to locate the SCARWAF information,
please let me know.
Very frustrating.
I told ANC we have all sorts of proof (from patches to
photographs), but the want an "official" order.

Looking for all the information I can get about my service
time in Korea. The NARC says my records were destroyed in a
fire and having problems with my VA claims process. Trying
to verify my Korean war service. I served in a Scarwaf unit
in Korea.

Comments:

My late husband was an officer with the Army Corp of
Engineers and served in Korea as part of SCARWAF with the
5th Air Force. I am having trouble finding information.
Searching for SCARWAF on the internet doesn't bring up the
5th AF, nor does it bring up the SCARWAF Museum. I
remember going to the latter with my husband, but I can't
remember where it was.

My husband's name is Theodore (Ted) Golmis. He passed at
age 83 in 2011. Would appreciate hearing from any who
might recognize the name or know about SCARWAF in Korea.
