My uncle served with 7th ID in Korea. He passed away about 10 years ago and all of his personal records are gone. Due to the fire at NMPC in 73 his permament record was destroyed. I am trying to get his Korean War Service Medal issued for my mother, his only surviving family member. Has anyone else had success with getting this done? Who did you contact? What documentation did they accept? All I currently have are some pictures. I'm working on more but he had no spouse or children to ask so I'm about at the end of my rope.
