Looking for rosters of 187th Airborne leaving from Fort Campbell to Korea.
We have a person who claims joining the 187th at Fort Campbell then shipped to Korea for both combat jumps.
Allegedly rose from recruit to Master Sergeant to First Sergeant to battlefield commission as First Lieutenant (not Second Lieutenant) in 1951 at age 19 without receiving any decorations or awards.
However, DD-214 shows enlisted entry to Air Force November 28, 1950, then trained as engineering draftsman in CONUS. Transfer to Army OCS in fall 1951 and Airborne training in 1953.
