My dad played football for YED in 1954. He greatly regrets having had his
football jacket stolen right after his return from overseas. I am attempting
to replace it for him. I'm hoping to see a picture of one if anyone could
help?

I arrived at Yokohama Engineer Depot in September of 1953 as
the only individual from a specialist school unit at Camp
Breckenridge, KY to be assigned to Japan. I served in the
adjutant's office and as an aide to the the post commander.
While there I was promoted up to the rank of Sgt. I left the
depot in December of 1954 for an early release to return to
college on the beginning of a semester. I regret that I was
never able to return to YED and realized too late that I
should have reenlisted and remained in the service for a
career.

I arrived in Yokohama on the John H. Pope on 14 Feb. 1955. T
The ship docked at North Pier. We traveled by troop train t
to Camp Drake. After processing at Camp Drake we traveled b
by truck to Sagami Depot. The trucks entered the back gate o
of the depot. It was about 10 pm when we got to the mess h
hall where they were saving chow for us. I was one of about e
eighty replacements that arrived at the Depot that night.
I worked for Depot Property and was in POL. I was assigned
to Det. "C" for about two months before I was transferred
to Det. "A" YED in Yokohama where I worked in POL at the
Motor Pool. Det. "A" closed down in 1957 so I was
reassigned back to Sagami where I was stationed until
January 1959. I was also lucky enough to be assigned back
to the Depot again from 1973 to 1976.

I arrived at the Yokohama Engineer Depot on 14 February
1955 and was assigned eventually to C Company, also with
Lt. Robinson and 1st SGT Graham.
I was in the Headquarters building in the Inventory and
Adjustment Branch and returned to the States after 3 years
to complete college on the G.I. Bill to become a high
school teacher in NY.
Anyone know the whereabouts of James Sullivan (Sully)? (Of
Ventura, California who worked in the same Branch and was a
good friend...)
I returned to Japan in 1972 to be employed as Director of
the Camp Drake Service Club and later as MWR Marketing
Chief at Camp Zama where I worked for 32 years.
Presently retired and still living in Japan.
