It is Memorial Day, 2013. This is Thomas Fletcher Bacon's daughter. I just asked him more about his army unit and found out it was the 8023rd army unit. He was in Sasebo, Japan from January, 1953 through July, 1954. Was a Corporal and worked in the Comptroller's office. Dad is 83 now, still lives in the house in Providence, RI where he grew up and where I grew up. This is the only website I could find with a reference to the 8023rd Army Unit.
