My name is Thomas John Mey and I am looking for anyone that knew Bob Mey. He was at Ft. Knox D-36 4th Platoon Dec 1952 - April 1953, France 1953-1954, Germany 1953, New foundland 1953. Then in Korea in 1957 - 1958 with the 287th Quartermaster Mobile Refridgeration CO.
I have pictures of his buddies Tom Lucas, Allan Smith, Bob Shottuch, Dick Stice, Ed Thoe, ? Wilson, and ? Unger at Forth Knox in March 1953.
Pictures of Earl Fischer, Clarence Robinson, Theodore Nelson, and ? Gibson. The last 3 were known as the 'The Three Regulars'
Also a picture of a group of them at Isaly's Country Garden in the early 50's.
My dad passed away July 1, 1985, he was 54. I was only 17 at the time and the youngest of 10 kids. He had 3 boys and 2 girls from his first marriage and 2 boys from his second. My mother had 3 boys from her first marriage. Growing up he was always working to support his family.
He suffered from several illnesses. One of which was some type of cancer that we found out he had after he died. he really wouldn't say much about his life before he was married to my mother (his second wife).
He did tell me that I was named after a couple of his Army buddies.
