Camp Carson (called before it was a Fort) was where we Rangers trained for Mountain and Cold Weather Survival. Some of the earlier rangers company, after leaving ranger traqining at Fort Benning, GA, proceeded to Cam Carson for training. Only ranger companys went as far as I know. I was with the 11th Ranger Company and I believe companies 1st through the 13th attended. I don't think any ranger companies attended in 19563. The last werre probably 1952.
If I can be of furthewr assistance, please contact me.

I am researching the army service of my late father. I think he went thru the course at Fort Carson in 1953 or 54. Did all soldiers going to Korea have to attend it? How long did it take? Was the school taught anywhere else besides Fort Carson? Does anyone know where class rosters might be kept from those years? Thank you.--Chad Hill
