Comments:

I was in a hospital in Kyoto, Japan '52 with a severe case of hepatitis and a
minor wound. (Air evacuated from Korea.)

This hospital only treated hepatits and hemorragic fever cases from Korea.
The teatment each for disease was differant on each floor of the hospital.
Most of the people with hemorragic fever died, there. I recovered and was
shipped back to Korea. There was a follow-up by the Army after my
discharge. (Tests, etc.)

My understanding was that the hemorragic fever was caused by rodents (Rats)
of which there were many!

Comments:

I am writing this after my Father, who served in Korea for a couple of years in 1951-1953 developed this virus while he was stationed in Korea. He has developed on several occasions, very high fevers that left him hospitalized and no cause could ever be found so the doctors said it was a bad virus. 2 weeks ago, once again he was hospitalized with a fever of 106 and his kidneys failed. He is now on dialysis and very weak. Has anyone had this virus while in Korea and if so, have you had problems since?
I would be very interested in speaking with anyone with information about this.
Thank you all for your service.
