Comments:

Looking for veterans of Co. E, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division who knew my Uncle:

CLARENCE HAROLD THOMPSON, PVT, KIA, Sept 5, 1950 at the 'WALLED CITY of KASAN'.

Harold was a member of Co. E, 29th Infantry Regiment stationed on Okinawa prior to being shipped to Korea.

His Company Commanders name was: William McClain.

If anyone who served in this unit would be kind enough to share what some insight of this battle or just let me know what it was like during his final days, it would be most appreciated. Uncle Harold was listed as missing in action (MIA) from Sept 5 until his body was recovered Sept 25, 1950 after Hill was retaken.

If any of fellow soldiers would just contact me and maybe share their stories, I would be most grateful.

GOD BLESS YOU and ALL of the veterans of the Korean War.

Sincerely, George A. Thompson Jr.
