I went to Korea in July ,1950 arriving at Pusan on 8th of August. My unit was the 73rd Heavy Tank Bn.and was unassigned at that time.We had M-26 Pershing tanks /90 mm and hq. had M45 with 105 mm howitzer. The Reconnaissance platoon,Hq. Co. , had 2 ea , M-24 light tanks with 75mm gun. Some of the US units had M-4 Sherman Tanks. The Marines had M- 26 also. Around March, 1951 our unit received M-46 Patton series tanks which they used for the remainder of the hostilities/cease fire. The British had Centurian Tanks .This is the most I can tell you ,from experience there.I am sure that it is correct. Some of the Artillery units had M-7 (Priest) armored 105 mm tracked vehicles which I was on in WWII in the Pacific and we used them as direct fire there like tanks.

Hi,
I'm trying to get any information re: Ronald William Edwards. My father has died and he very rarely talked about the war, and his tours of duty. I do remember him mentioning the Korean war and have seen pictures of him in tanks. I remember once he told me he commanded 3 tanks. I think they took heavy causalties and he lost a close friend in a horrific hit on his tank. I also though that he drove Centurian tanks.
Any information about anything I've said would be helpful.

Hello,
My name is Tom Farrington, during the Korean war my dad was in a tank unit and I am trying to find out what tanks were used by the U.S. in Korea so that I can obtain a replica.
Thanks in advance, hope you can provide some help!
