I am trying to find out information on the Korean war during the last weeks of October 1951 and the first week of November. My uncle Donald Turner was killed November 4, 1951. According to a letter sent to my grand parents he was killed manning twin 50’s when he couldn’t raise the gun height enough to shoot over the bodies of the enemy and they were over run. It also spoke of the Chinese wrapping their bodies with ace bandage like material so that even if you hit them it wouldn’t bring them down. My Dad was never able to talk about his favorite brother and we would like to keep the family history intact.
Do you have any information on what was happening during that time period of the war that you would please share?
