My father, Leon E. Motley, Jr. (from Canton, OH) served in the Korean War. He has shared a few stories with my sister and me about the war, but one we have heard many times is about another soldier named Sasaoka (sp?). He was shot in the right leg and my father heard from someone that the injury required the leg to be amputated. Dad is alive and well and I have often wondered what happened to some of the other soldiers he served with, especially Mr. Sasaoka. I, unfortunately, do not have unit numbers or anything. I am just curious and would like to be able to tell him what I find out. Thanks!
