LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION!!!!!!
Formed in 1940-41 from cadre of regular army with most members from one year draftees in 1940-41. Homebase was Ft. Leonard Wood at Rolla Missouri. Was attached to the infantry division at Camp Joseph Robinson in Little Rock and based there until Dec. 7, 1941 and then was shipped to SW Pacific where they were involved in numerous engagements. I entered the 43rd in April 1941 and served until Aug. 1941 when I transferred to U.S. Air Corp for 4 years. I would appreciate any information of the 43rd. I heard at War's end they had earned 8 battle stars. I still remember most of the soldiers in A Co. 1st platoon and would like to know any information available.
Sincerely,
Melton O. Connell 38067024
