Am seeking the date that this unit returned to New York City. Dad recalls it as being in April 1954.
He stated he was on the first ship of 3000 men to return to NYC, out of the 30000 men returning.
I need the information to recreate his DD-214 for VA Benefits. He walked off that boat that day and never looked back.... I'm sure there was good reason.
