I was wounded by an M-1 round in the chest during basic tng at Ft Jackson SC in 1960. It happened on the rifle range. All they did was sew me up and back to duty. No one even mentioned a Purple Heart. I guess back then they didn't award them for friendly fire wounds. I still have the scar and the bullet. If there is a chance for me I would appreciate the help.
