Update on original message. My aunt says dad was in Army National Guard at Van Nuys, CA but was activated and sent to Duncanville, TX to train in communications. She also says he was in the 65th air force and given extra hazardous duty and moved around alot, attached to several units in air force, army ect.

Everytime we ask him about the war he tells us short little details which we are trying to piece together. Only recently has it come to our attention that he was lost for 3 months in the jungle and possibly tortured by the Chinese!!! No wonder he was such a rough guy!!! We love him dearly and are so proud of him. What we do know is that he hung communications lines for the army and that one of his buddies on another pole was shot and killed by a sniper. We know that he fell into a 'honey pot' of poop that soreful day. We know that he took a shot in the back-- We know he re enlisted. Do you know how we can find out where he served? I have told him about this site and he seemed interested. But when I asked what was his unit number he said he does not remember. Our family does not keep paperwork and I can't locate his papers. I know he served because our family home was purchased with VA financing. Thanks for your help.
