Gen. Fazakerley: Sorry, I Didn't know Capt. Bickerdike, but the 50th AAA AW in your message caught my eye so I thought to reply. Just recently I began to be re-interested in that service when I was still in my teens. in 1950 I was an M-19 cannoneer/ gunner in D. Battery (Capt. Fink) with the original group going over from Ft. Bliss. (for the last couple months, I was a squad leaer on a quad fifty - hated it.) i served until March 51 when I was recruited for the GHQ Honor Guard in Tokyo. I served on AD until '61 then went to college...Commissioned in the Reserves, I was recalled in Jan 64 for Vietnam...Served until February '74. I have been teaching English and Creative Writing since...now part-time. I ran into Col. O'Malley in Tokyo and watched his career afterwards. I just wanted to say to to you and all ex-50th members good luck and good health. I an proud of that service in the 50th that cold, cold, winter of 1950. Best wishes. Charles Brady PS: I am an honary member of the USS Begor Association. That was the ship that picked up my crew from the Hungnam city dump on Christmas Day, as the Engineers were blowing up the docks. Fed us and took us back south!
