At a recent estate in Minneapolis Mn I picked up a Cigarette lighter, Holiday
Greetings, 1957, Fuchu Airmens Club, APO 925. The prior owner I believe to Be
Paul Bixler. An air force man, Railroad employee and Minneapolis resident
since 1967. To my knowledge he passed in 2006.

I was stationed with the 5th AACS I & m 1951 to 1954. We
went all over Korea and the Pacific. On Tsukishima Island
in the concrete school house I had an upper bunk and my
lower bunk mate was Frenchie La Blank. We got busted once
for wire recording the inspecting parties comments during a
room inspection. I was a part of the move to Fuchu. I fondly
fondly remember a Master sergeant Statser. We had a ham
radio station KA2IM. Those were the days when the yen was
360 to 1. I am 82 and still going. The Air Force was good for
for me.

My name is Christina Spencer and my grandfather was in the Air Force,
stationed in Tokyo from 1951-1953. His name was Robert "Cap" Johnson.
He was stationed at the Far East Air Forces Base and he worked in the

I was stationed at FEAF Base, APO925 in the New Kaijo Bldg
from Dec 50 to Jan 55. I was in the Air Police and we had a
post at the 1956th AACS station. It was located on the top
of a small hill close to downtown Tokyo. It was the site
that Tokyo Rose made her broadcasts during WWII. My unit was
the 421 St Air Police Sqd. and we were on the 2nd floor of
the New Kaijo bldg. I have a picture of the guard post with
the 1956th AACS sign in front if anyone would like to have a
copy.

that APO was Fuchu Japan where I was stationed for two years. I was in the 6988 Radio sqdn which was next bldg to AACS. However I wasnt there until 59 so I didnt know anybody from that sqdn but in my time we used to drink with those guys downtown. It was about an hour by train to Tokyo but was still in Tokyo Province. I just put in aacs fuchu and got a lot of hits including the number of aacs sqdn at fuchu, 1956 aacs. There are lots of hits for aacs fuchu, maybe one is a site dedicated to that sqdn and maybe they have reunions. good luck
