i was stationed at wheelus afb, libya, when the b-24 was spotted by esso oil. my supervisor, major bill rubertus, flew the first flight out there in a c-47, with a camera crew, the chaplain, and others. they located all the remains of the air crew first,

not korean war related but does anyone recall the details about an american bomber found in the desert long after it was lost during ww ii ? i think that it was presumed to be lost at sea-in the med. bill usmc,1950-54
