I was born at William Beaumont Army Hospital Oct.5th 1959. At this time my. father
William D Cannadyjr. was stationed at Biggs AFB. I don't have any military info.
on him except he did his basic at Sampson Jan. 1951. Fl.1380/ Sq.3674. Anyone that
served with him or has any knowledge of his service, please contact me.

Comments:

My grandfather was part of the 97th from 1949-1952. His name is Aubrey Canada
and I was wanting to learn more about his part in the Korean War.
Unfortunately he passed away last month and I never heard him talk much about
it. I joined the Marine Corps because of him. Thanks for the help.

Casey? and I were two of only three guys who were just several hundred feet
from the Air Force bomber crashing and gigantic explosion in front of the
motor pool. January 1957. Lucky to be alive. 303-274-1755.

My dad was stationed at Biggs from 1949 - 1957. He was in the 97th ARS. He
passes away in 2014. Biggs was great duty. I was a kid and loved all the
activities on the base.

50, KC-97, and B-47. Lived in the on-base trailer park with my new wife from

fire department crash crew. F86/84? 1950-1st qtr 1951. Any Assistance would be

I am from NC and was at Biggs AFB in '57-'58 in 95th Hdqs
Sq. I am looking for Russell Rose and Melvin Guidry who were
there at the same time. I think Russell was from Oregon and
Melvin was from La. Anyone else that was there at that time
also.

Comments:

{was doing cockpit duty on my plane and listening to tower
radio. KB-29 was on long final approach, tow target B-26
called tower and asked permission to make a fight approach
and was given permission. 26 landed,pulled back on power
just as 29 lit on runway. 29 apparently didn't see him and
hit rear canopy on 26 with tip tank. 29 tried toabort
landing, put on full power and climbed to right, stalled
and crashed behind a line of KB-29s.been more Killing all
on board. 26 should have kept up speed to get. 29 should
have been more aware of 26 location. Tower should have
followed landing distance closer. Don't know who got blame

Comments:

Stationed at Biggs from Jan 56 through July 58. Member of
35th Aviation Depot Squadron (A/1C). Worked near White
Sands in special weapons but was billeted on Biggs base.
Was present on the motor pool wash rack just minutes after
the B57 crashed there. Very lucky to be alive. have
interesting take on why the crash occurred Believe official
reports are in error.

Comments:

In late January 1957 this aircraft crashed into the front of
the Motor Pool and exploded into thousands of burning wreckage
scattered over a large area. From the concussion the truck I
was driving was blown about 20 ft into and tying up a fire
hydrant. Anyone who remembers that crash please call me

My father (l Lerner) was stationed at Biggs in the mid to late 50s. He was
part of the 335th Bombardment Squad, 95th Bomb Wing. I am looking for
any pictures, squad or wing patches as a gift for his 80th birthday this year.

remember he was assigned to the b-29 bombers at Biggs AFB, El Paso during the
Korean conflict. Is there anyone who remembers by father and can share any
