While serving at K-6 From November 1954 through June of 1955;with most of my time spent on Easy Site; I had came into Headquarters home of the 1ST Marine Air Wing-Mag-12 sometime in the spring of 1955; while playing cards in the hut down from the mess hall there was a big explosion from a Marine Jet that crashed outside the fence and i was one of the first to reach the scene. There was nothing left of the fighter jet and live 50 caliber ammo was all over the ground with the Pilot still in his ejection seat does anyone out there who recalls this tragic crash, if so please e-mail me as this horrible crash has never left my mind.

I arrived in Korea in November of 1954 and was assigned to the 1st Shoran Beacon Sq U.S.A.F which was headquartered at the 1st Marine Air Wing-M.A.G 12 Base at K-6 Pyongtaek. After about two weeks there I was sent to Easy Site which was by the Yellow Sea.My duties included acting Mess Sgt and Supply Sgt although I was only an Airman 3rd Class.Sure would like to hear from anyone that was there at the same time, such as Lt.Young from Virginia Lt Frankel from New York also Haggerty,Shelly,Warren,Medic Mac-McWhorter and First Sgt Spivey.
