I am a Korean War Veteran. 82 years old. I was stationed on Chodo Island 9-52 to 8-53. Attached to 606th AC&W, radio operator. End of Feb, beginning of March, the island was ice bound. The North Koreans marched across and took us prisoner, omitted from my discharge. Six months. On the mainland we were trucked to a POW camp outside of Pyongyang. Four years recently assisted by a Veterans Service Officer,20 years prior to that. Final judgment earlier this year, claimed my account was unbelievable. Archival account claims no Air Force personnel was ever taken captive from Chodo Island. They claim the island was evacuated because they could not deliver supplies due to being ice-bound. I was never evacuated and I was a POW. All my friends, family who knew me then have passed on. I have no physical proof and my records were burned in St.Louis in 1973. My discharge says my most significant service was guarding the Tennessee Valley Authority, even though it says I was out of country 11 mos 7 days. Is there anything you can do to help me????
